COMMISSIONS

I create original handmade portraits from photographs that are sent to me or taken by myself.

All the materials that I use are archival and high quality. I pay special attention to the lightfastness of my art supplies.

How does it work?

Contact me through the contact form and let me know what you would like.

If we live nearby we can set an appointment to have the subject photographed. If not you can send me some photos to choose and work from. Good quality photos are essential for a good portrait! Send as many as you’d like (candid photos are often the best).

I don’t combine photos of different people or change their position or expressions.

If you are unsure about the composition and size I will make a digital mock-up or sketch to give you options.

Once the reference, design and materials are clear I ask for 50% of the payment ahead and the rest after the artwork is completed and approved before shipping. I ship everything without framing.

I also send updates during the process painting since I believe seeing the progress of a painting is one of the nicest things about commissioning a piece of artwork.

How long does it take?

I like to give myself 2-3 weeks but depending on the technique it may be less. Please understand that oil paint needs to dry in between layers and before it’s sent.
